Cheesy photo in front of the Columbus airport display! Kevin's cheesy photo
Our first self-portrait of the trip! Here we go! We left home at midnight, the morning of December 26 and headed to Columbus to catch our flight. We flew to Boston, arrived there early in the morning and waited to catch our plane to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
In Boston they overbooked the flight and accidentally gave our seats away! We stood our ground...no WAY were we delaying our trip south!!! They ended up giving us FIRST CLASS seats for the 4 1/2 hour plane trip. Is that great or what??? Kevin shows his new first class boarding pass!
Check it out - Bus stop signs in Spanish! we're not in Ohio anymore!!! Waiting for the bus...
Old San Juan oceanfront We reached San Juan around 2:30pm and took a taxi to our hotel. Those taxi drivers in Puerto Rico are either extremely brave or extremely crazy (or both!). We were both thankful for our seatbelts. After we checked into the hotel we decided to save money and try and figure out the bus system to catch a ride into Old San Juan. My high school Spanish came in handy!
All the buildings are painted pretty pastel colors Every street is either uphill or downhill (though by the end of the night they ALL felt uphill!
Gorgeous views! The old cobblestone streets are very narrow, and the sidewalks only fit one person.
