Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Can you paint my horse exactly as he is in the photo?

Yes I can! If you have a good, clear photo that isn't minuscule, I can generally use your horse in the exact post he is standing (or moving) in the photo painted on your item (space permitting, of course!).

  2. I don't have a good photo of my horse. Can you take this photo I do have and make my horse look like a world champion western pleasure horse?

Yes I can! If your photo is clear enough to show your horse's color and marking s correctly, I can 'pose' him in any classic or standard pose. You can choose a pose here or send me your own idea or picture.

  3. Can I have more than one horse painted on my item?

Yes you can! Multiple horse designs are available for a small additional fee.

  4. Do you paint other animals?

Yes I do - I paint all animals other than the human animal. A good, large, clear photo is needed for any other species so that I can get the detail right.

  5. Do you paint people?

No I don't, sorry. I focus on the 4-legged world with my artwork. The people (riders) on my horse portraits are painted with generic faces, although I do strive to be accurate with the show clothing that you wish to be painted.

  6. Are the stall signs or farm signs weather-proof?

Yes they are (within reason!). We have a set of stall plaques on our stalls that are going on 10 years old - they get hosed off regularly and are still looking great! Signs that live out in the weather such as farm signs are clearcoated with several coats to protect the design. For best results, keep away from road salt (for us poor northerners who experience the joys of winter). My signs are guaranteed - if you start seeing slight signs of wear, send it back to me and for the cost of shipping I will touch it up, re-coat it, and send it back. Signs that have been neglected and show a lot of weather damage can also be fixed up and re-coated for a small fee. Contact me for details. All items other than signs and plaques are considered 'indoor' items and are not guaranteed for the weather.

  7. When can I expect my order to be shipped?

Turnaround time varies depending on the season and the number of artwork orders in line before yours. Generally the busiest times of the year are mid-summer and fall, as people start thinking about Christmas gifts. Be sure to get your Christmas orders in early enough to guarantee delivery. Generally if you let me know of a certain deadline you need your order by, I can let you know if it is possible. I try my best to get orders out in a timely fashion, but I am a single human being that paints every item one at a time, so quick turnaround is not always possible. You may wait anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months for your order. Need it quick? Try ordering a pre-painted item from my inventory - ready to be shipped tomorrow! Remember - No artwork is started until it is paid in full.

  8. What are the shipping charges on artwork?

Shipping charges vary depending on the size and weight of the item. each item listed on my website has a shipping charge listed.

  9. Do I get a discount for ordering multiple items?

I do not offer volume discounts, I am sorry! These items are unique and painted one at a time, and there is no way to make the process any quicker or easier for larger orders to justify a discount. Multiple orders can be combined for reduced shipping, and very large orders will be charged only actual shipping at the time of shipment.

  10. How are items shipped?

Items are shipped via US Postal Service Priority Mail. Shipping insurance is available (see order form for details) and expedited shipping is available for an additional cost.
